Anthony Pino is a household name in Hoboken, and is known for his impeccable Northern Italian cuisine featured at Anthony David's. But, according to him, you have to keep evolving and set the counter for the latest trends. Literally, Anthony has done that with the newly renovated space and marble counter top at Anthony David's.
Besides his honed culinary talents, this is part of what keeps him current and on the tips of people's tongues in Hoboken: whether they are talking about his latest culinary venture or dish.
Recently, I had a chance to take in the updated scene at a special reopening party and taste the new Antipasto menu. It was simply inviting and divine. A couple friends joined me, sharing: white wine, artisanal cheeses, brussel sprouts, and grilled artichoke with the right mysteriously divine seasoning.
Mysterious, because it took great finesse to create the deep profile of flavors ...allowing them to become a symphony in one great bite.
Impressed with how sophisticated this afternoon delight was, I had to go back again. There was one plate that evaded me at the party: the roasted duck. Today, it was all about the duck. Although, there was no goose in sight...this sweet, moist and well cured duck: dripping with glazed juices... was definitely playing games on my tongue. I felt goosed, with each bite I took, and gladly so. I found a new meat to love...and will be bringing back some friends to share my new afternoon delight.
Oh Duck, sweet Duck....for an afternoon delight, Anthony David's is definitely it!
